Desaturation Control Bit

When reading AGA hardware reference manuals from Commodore, you surely went through a BPLCON0 reference. You could have wondered what hides under cryptic BYPASS bit in this register. It just forces display hardware to load all of three color guns with pallette number instead of passing looked up value from color tables (these loaded with BPLxCOL registers). In other words you get a palette with 256 shades of gray just by setting this bit on.

Weird enough, on Fabio "Maverick" Bizzetti's machine this triggers only red gun, green and blue are blank.
